Large Print Documents Added

We're working to add large print versions of all documents to the blog, starting with large print versions of the draft DDRA and of the full report and analysis. Versions are labeled as "LARGE PRINT" in the title. More large print documents will be added early next week.

Community Forum: Saturday Jan. 10, 2009, 10 AM - 12 Noon

On Saturday, January 10th Project ACTION! and the DDS MAC Legislative Committee will co-host a special community forum for people to learn about the draft "Developmental Disabilities Reform Act" and ways to get involved in revising and improving the draft.

The forum will be from 10 AM to 12 Noon at the Kennedy Institute, 801 Buchanan Street, NE (near the Red Line's Fort Totten & Brookland/CUA metro stations). The doors will open at 9:30 AM. Light refreshments will be served.

All are welcome! Bring a friend! People with disabilities, family members & service providers are encouraged to attend. Let your voices be heard!

Your thoughts and questions on the draft bill are needed! Feedback and ideas on ways to improve the bill are welcomed in several ways:

• At meetings -- Join the Town Hall Meeting on January 10th to learn more about the draft bill. After the Town Hall, all will be welcomed to take part in a series of meetings for people to review and work on changes to the draft bill.
• Post a comment on the blog -- You can submit a comment to this post or any other post on this blog. All blog comments are moderated.

Draft Bill Released; Town Hall Meeting on January 10, 2009

The DDS MAC Legislative Committee is pleased to release the draft Developmental Disabilities Reform Act, or DDRA!

There will be a Town Hall Meeting on Saturday, January 10, 2009, co-hosted with Project ACTION! for anyone who is interested in learning more about the draft bill. Stay tuned for updates on the time and location.

After the Town Hall, there will be a series of meetings -- open to all -- for people to review and and help make improvements to the draft DDRA, section-by-section.
